Sherley

I'm Sherley and I'm in 1996's batch.  I spent my eighteen years living in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, Indonesia with my parents and two siblings. Being raised in average yet warm family has taught me to be someone who value happiness and togetherness rather than money. Hard work lead me to be the top 10 students in my class from primary until my secondary school and  I was graduated from Witama Senior High School in 2014 as the best graduate from Social Science Class. My passion lead me to Singapore and I'm now continuing my tertiary education in Republic Polytechnic taking Event Management course. I've been gaining experience by working in several work field during my study too, such as Hilton hotel, W hotel, Hoshino CafĂ©, and events. Working in F&B industry is tiring but it would be a lot easier when you have positive attitude, easy to adapt, play your own role in teamwork and the most important thing is to have fun with your colleagues .

I love to interact and show my empathy towards human being and contribute something to the community, which leads me to join Service Learning Club in Republic Polytechnic. To expand my network, train myself to be more sociable and acquire the skill to manage a great event, I also join JIVE which is an Interest Group in Republic Polytechnic that organised event. Besides that, I use photography to express myself and inspire others. And I'm a bathroom singer, too! However, I'm lacking of confident when it comes to convincing people and public speaking, and I'm still learning to overcome it.

Last but not least, I wanted to pet a dog since I was young but my mother is allergic to it. As I grow up, I found my overwhelmed love towards wild animals such as Penguin, Panda, Tiger and others, and decided to collaborate with my other folks to make La Da La Viva comes true.

Liow Yee Fei

I am currently pursuing a diploma in Integrated Events Management from Republic Polytechnic and will be graduating soon. For the past three years, when I got free time, I will do some volunteering work as a crew member in planning and organizing events such as birthday parties etc etc…The reason why I decided to do it as a volunteering work is because due to the interest I have  and also to gain some experience before stepping into the working industry. Not only that, I get to interact with people and able to plan out successful event with all types constraints faced each time together with my fellow teammates. I am also keen to further my study in this industry, upgrading myself to be more experienced in it and pursue it as a career.

Nur Athirah

The specific traits that I have that will aid me in obtaining a job in the future are my values such as responsibility as well as leadership. I am pretty much a responsible person. Although sometimes I do lack in motivation, I still do accept my responsibilities and strongly believe in getting things done properly before submission time (if these things do have a deadline, that is). This trait will help me to obtain a future job because it would entice employers; it is only generic that they hire suitable employees, especially those who are always engaged. As mentioned in my personal biography, I have previously been appointed to be the head treasurer of the band I was in for three years or so. This has helped me to further develop my sense of leadership which will in the future, help me to obtain a job as employers would want someone that are always ready to lead their colleagues and make decisions regardless of possible risks (empowerment) when necessary. However, a trait that I personally believe that I am currently lacking of is to effectively communicate. Often, I find myself feeling intimidated and shy to speak up especially when placed in a new and unknown environment. This also shows I am poor in terms of my adaptability. Considering the fact that almost every workplaces require employees to communicate well with clients in order to get a better idea of their needs, I really do have to develop these traits to prepare myself for the future ahead.

Djashima Habib

I am Djashima Habib, 18 as of this year October. Currently, I am still studying in Republic Polytechnic however, I will be graduating in two years time, 2018. I have a huge interest in involving myself in social work. I love to help the people around me who are facing challenges and difficulties in their daily lives. I have taken part in many social work that my alma mater have organised such as helping the old folks home, children’s homes and even organise events for the less privileged children in Indonesia. In addition I was appointed as the student welfare leader in my secondary school to counsel students who require advice. My role as a student welfare leader also made me responsible for the funds of the student council.

I am keen to further involve myself in social activities as I believed I had this passion for helping others since I was five. I have learned values such as being responsible and having empathy. My personal belief is that by helping others, their smiles can help bring joy to our lives. Hence, I would definitely forgo this passion and interest of mine.

Although, a person can be strong in certain aspects he or she will definitely have his or her own weaknesses. Likewise my weakness would be unable to multitask and lose focus easily. Hence, I believe a job requiring me to multitask and focus throughout would not be suitable.

Chermin Ho

My name is Chermin Ho and I am 18 as of this year.

I started dancing when I was a 4 year old kid. Since then, I grew a great passion for dance. I have achieved and completed 12 grades of dance. I had many opportunity to perform, experience and express myself whenever I am on stage. I appreciate every opportunity that my instructor has given me. Currently I am in Republic Polytechnic and I have joined the Cheerleading team, Rexaz, so experience and try something different from what I usually do. Through these experiences, I have picked up values such as positivity, courage, determined. I have learnt not to give up easily

I have experience in the retail industry as I worked part-time in a retail outlet named Bershka, during my holidays. I got to meet many different people and I have picked up many experiences and values while working there. There was once I encountered an unreasonable customer but I kept calm. I love to help my colleagues whenever they are in need of help. I love helping others as it makes me happy and satisfied. By doing this, I also got praised by my Manager quite a lot and I have a rather close relationship with my colleagues. I have picked up values such as accountability, service, teamwork and trustworthiness.
